Are Google Ads the Real Deal?

Quantazone blog: Are Google ads the real deal?
Did you know?

Around every second, there are 2.3 million searches performed on Google and the majority of search result pages include Google Ads. Paid for by businesses, these ads can be an extremely effective way of driving relevant, qualified traffic to your website exactly when people are searching for the types of products or services your business offers.

What are Google Ads?

Google offers paid advertisements that appear in search results on google.com. These paid advertisements help businesses in reaching maximum customers who search for related products. They work on an auction system that takes place every time a user performs a keyword search.

The green [Ad] box you can see in the red box is how sponsored ads(Paid Ads) are shown. These ads work as great marketing techniques. The green box below shows how a normal search result appears. The normal search results are unpaid results.

Google Display Network

Google also offers Display Advertisements, which appear on the Google Display Network.  The Display Network is an extensive collection of outside, third-party websites that have partnered with Google and agreed to serve Google ads. These ads, on the Display Network, can be in text, image, video, or rich media format, and can be targeted differently. This includes remarking and banner ads.

Why do they appear?

Whenever you search for something on Google, you see ads about the same thing/similar thing on most social media websites like Instagram, Facebook, etc. Wonder why? This is how Google Ads appear. Advertisers choose a list of keywords to target that is relevant to their business offerings, the words that people are likely to use when searching for their product. They then bid on these keywords, basing each bid on how much they are willing to pay for a Google user to click on their ad. This bid, combined with a Quality Score assigned by Google based on the quality of your proposed ad, determines which Google ads appear on the SERP. When the user clicks the advertiser pays a certain amount of Cost(Also known as cost per click).

Google Ads Cost

The cost of ads varies depending on a number of factors. Factors such as the competitiveness of your keywords and industry, your location, the quality of ad campaigns and more.

In the United States, the average cost per click for Google search ads across all industries is $2.32. In other countries, the average cost for them is much lower.

Should your business go for Google Ads?

In my personal opinion, Yes! These ads reach millions of customers and they will definitely help scale your business. Rather than outsourcing your marketing to some agency these ads are a much better option. They will reach people who are actually interested in buying your product. This helps in converting leads to sales.

Will they Rule the World?

In my personal opinion, Yes! They will definitely rule the world. They control almost 73%(increasing) market share in the advertisement industry which makes them a whopping $40.3 billion.
